As you are aware HM Treasury/ Government have put in place financial support for employees and Self Employed. Director shareholders are not being treated as fairly as Self Employed in so much any payments made as dividends are being excluded from the calculation if the director is furloughed. Also, unlike the self-employed the director cannot take part in any commercial generating activity.
If you have not already done so the please sign the petition at https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/310515 hopefully this will get the Treasury /Government to change its mind.
The difference in tax paid by Self Employed and Director Shareholders is 1% and the chancellor has stated the problem with introducing a system is verifying dividends from employment and dividends from investments. Accountants already sign off application for mortgages so surely, they could apply the same policy on this?

If small business owners do not get support, all of their employees will be out of work, don’t turn you back on us.
